Spiritual Symbolism

For this game it is assumed that the spirit realm is highly symbolic in nature. The spiritual realm is composed of meaning rather than matter. A term that can express this is symbolic reality. The concept is drawn from the many visions and dreams that are described in the Bible. These are usually filled with imagery that seem cryptic and foreign to modern day readers. However, most of these images were clear and familiar to an ancient reader or listener. The details of how something appears in the spiritual realm are purposeful and carry deeper meaning. Thinking in this way can be foreign to we who exist in the material realm which is very concrete.

Let me provide an example of this. If we see a horn on a physical creature, it simply means that creature is of a kind and sex that grow horns. In the spiritual visions and dreams in scripture, however, horns are used to represent power and kingship. A ram in one of Daniel’s visions in Daniel 8 had two horns, one larger than the other, and one came up later than the other. These represented two kings, one more powerful and one more recent. Later, those horns were broken by a goat that charged in with one horn, which was explained as one powerful king of a different nation. Then that horn was broken and four smaller horns sprung up, but three of them were overcome by the fourth horn. Again, these referred to kings and their lesser power.

In the material realm, appearance does not directly reveal the qualities of an individual. God even rebuked the prophet Samuel in 1 Samuel 16:7 saying “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For God does not see what man sees, for a man looks on the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks on the heart.” In the spirit realm’s symbolic reality, however, outward appearance can be used to reveal quite a lot more about the qualities of the individual. But appearances are not always truth as elohim can choose their appearance. 2 Corinthians 11:14 explains that "Satan himself disguises himself as an angel of light."

Symbolic reality pervades to the very core of Allies of Majesty. It is most obvious in the faces of the four basic Orders of elohim. But, even the weapons the elohim choose to employ are symbolic manifestations that express their attitude and motives.
