Hold Setting & Geography

To establish a Hold, the Host and the Player who will manage the Hold will need to set up a story and a setting for the Hold. These basic pieces of information are needed to create a compelling interest in the ongoing events of the Hold. There should be a good mix of events focused on the material realm and events solely known in the spiritual realm. There will be humans with ongoing and developing circumstances that the Hold elohim will be involved in. There will also be other elohim coming through the Hold to set out on Missions of their own. There will be threats of invasion from surrounding evil. They will also encroach whenever they can through material, human means. This works best when there are named and identified humans, and spirits. Holy elohim will be sent to bolster the Hold’s own forces. The same will be true of the forces of evil. They will have some members who will remain consistently involved and there will be others who will only be involved once.

There should also be an increasingly defined geography as the Hold story progresses. A map (drawn or possibly simply written and described) should formed that details the territories, terrains, spirits, and humans not only in the Hold itself, but in the surrounding territories. This information requires effort to develop and so can be done incrementally over time, but should certainly be done. All involved should find the befits well worth the work involved.
