Dominions

Dominions are boundaries of spiritual authority. Dominions are usually linked to a physical location such as a building, a room, a home, a complex, or even a campground. While Dominions are most often linked to structures, the structure is not the source of the Dominion.

Dominions are always rooted in consistently exerted spiritual authority (usually human), however, a temporary Dominion could conceivably be established due to events in the moment. While any structure could be a Dominion or part of a Dominion, not all structures are Dominions. Also, Dominions are not always limited to structures. Dominions are not always intentional and often are established outside of the awareness of the person(s) responsible for the Dominion. 

Dominion Boundaries

Nothing outside of a Dominion can cause an effect inside the Dominion or vice versa. No Strikes, Spiritual Effects, or Songs can pass through one way or the other. This is true regardless of whether the Dominion is holy or unholy. Elohim can pass through Dominions freely.

Sensing and Dominions

A Dominion itself is sensed at Melee Range and is also discernable as holy or unholy. Tier:1, 2, and 3 versions of the Spiritual Effect Detection can sense the presence of a holy or unholy Dominion at 7", 14", and 21" respectively. They not do not sense through Dominions, but when within Melee Range of the Dominion can reveal the current Area Influence inside the Dominion structure. Tier:2 Detection can reveal if holy or unholy Tier:4 characters are within. Tier:3 Detection can additionally reveal if holy or unholy Tier:3 characters are within. Detection versions used inside a Dominion function normally within the Dominion and can also sense if any holy or unholy are elohim within Melee Range of the Dominion outer border, even if that border beyond the Range of the Detection. This does not reveal the relative strength of those near the border. Tier:2 Detection additionally reveals the general direction of the elohim. Tier:3 Detection additionally reveals the relative strength.

Area Influence within Dominions

Area Influence within a Dominion includes all holy elohim and unholy elohim within the entire Dominion. If there is a Dominion within a Dominion, such as one made by a Barrier Spiritual Effect, that Dominion acts as an entirely separate Dominion and each Dominion’s qualities, such as contained Area Influence and sensing, are figured separately. Detection versions cannot sense a Dominion through another Dominion.
