What is War?
While many situations can be avoided or resolved without violent conflict, many situations cannot. War is a very large part of Allies of Majesty. On rare occasions it can be run in a narrative style that is used in the rest of the game. However, it is usually recommended that the Host transitions to a more technical mode of play when active War begins. This will involve player characters and non-player characters all getting their own opportunities to contribute to the situation in turn.
War will most frequently involve using standees or tokens on a table with other terrain or markers to represent the holy and unholy elohim and the environment they are in. A tape measure is used to measure movement and ranges. If conducting War without these in a more imaginative "theater of the mind", much of the tactical nuance of many character abilities will be lost. The Host will ultimately determine which style is used at what points during the game.
