Frog

Represents: False Doctrines; Misleading Signs & Wonders
Biblically frogs and toads are treated as the same kind of creature and are among the list of unclean creatures. As nocturnal creatures, Frogs are associated with darkness and evil. The specific imagery we use for frogs draws heavily from the spirits like frogs that proceed from the mouths of the dragon, beast, and false prophet. They performed signs and wonders to draw the kings of the world to an unholy battle. Frogs are actually stealthy and slip in sometimes without notice like the falsehoods they promote. They also have a high resistance and can be hard to remove, like a well rooted false doctrine. They will use miraculous signs to cause other to believe lies and reinforce the sentiment by singing Minstrel Songs from the Dread Family: Dread, Terror, and Trepidation to add to the effect. They can lash out for a mid-range attack with their tongue.

Special Abilities

Frogs are Rooted, being just as stubborn to remove as the lies the encourage. Frogs gain 7 Adjustments vs. being Perceived. They also gain 1 Adjustment to any Resist Checks they make.

Weapon Effects

Frogs use their long, bludgeoning tongue to lash out at their enemies. While the Frog is singing, they can only do this once during each Activation.

Enhances Dread, Terror, and Trepidation

Dread stirs up strong fear within good, causing them to become wary and immediately assume Defensive Stance, gaining only 2 Guard. If they have 3 uncancelled Fails in their Resist Check, they will flee the Conflict for 1 Cycle instead. This Song is Resistible using Passion.

Terror causes good to Falter, filling them with a feeling of being hopelessly outmatched by their enemy. When not resisting, they will Falter half of each Activation’s Action Points (rounded down). This Falter is applied as F:# just before the start of each Activation. If they have 3 uncancelled Fails in their Resist Check, they will Falter:1 Cycle. This Song is Resistible using Resolve.

Trepidation causes a single Target to feel a burden that they should not stop evil in the situation and that interference should be left directly to Elyon. If not fully resisting, they will Falter half their Action Points each Activation in indecision. If they have no Passes, they will Falter:1 Cycle instead. If they have 3 uncancelled Fails in their Resist Check, they will not Falter, but out of fear will try to stop any good attempting to address evil (for example, restraining those who are still fighting against evil). They will continue this until their Passion is fully recovered or they are Struck or otherwise attacked by evil. An elohim affected by Trepidation will not freely allow others to Strike them. They also have unaffected defenses and may assume Defensive Stance or flee in order to avoid being Struck. This Song is Resistible using Passion.

Cursed Dread Wears Passion by a greater amount.

Cursed Terror Wears Passion by a greater amount.

Cursed Trepidation Wears Passion by a greater amount.

Unholy Dread Wears Passion by an even greater amount.

Unholy Terror Wears Passion by an even greater amount.

Unholy Trepidation Wears Passion by an even greater amount.

Subjugation enhances the effects of Dread, Terror, or Trepidation. Any good up to Tier:2 not Resisting any versions of these Songs are affected as if they had 3 uncancelled Fails in their Resist Check, regardless of Current Passion. Additionally, Tier:3 are affected as such with only 2 uncancelled Fails.

Attributes

Frogs are treated as Minstrels but have exceptional Endurance, receiving an additional 21 at 1st Domain, this increases to 40 at 2nd Domain, 80 at 3rd Domain, and 144 once becoming a Frog Beast.

Frogs also gain +2 Skill to Affirm/Aim Social Interactions.

Size and Mutations

Frogs fit the standard rules of Occupying Space for elohim. However, the height is of course skewed when not standing upright. Also, like all bestial elohim, Frogs will gain varying Mutations when increasing in Tier.

The example below shows a sampling of Frogs increasing from 1st Domain to Frog Beast. In this instance, the Mutations gained in order are: Membranous Wings, Meaty Claws, and Devouring Mandibles.
