Dancer (Minstrel Discipline)

Dancers are Minstrels who express themselves in dance as well as song. This additional expression supplements the Passion they pour into their singing.

  • can only layer Songs from the same Family while Dancing

  • +1 SPP for every 10 Control above the total Complexities being Sung while Dancing

    • (maximum of +4 SPP per Tier of the Dancer

  • while Dancing, allies gain benefits to Social Interactions depending on the Family

    • Cry Family = +1 Skill to friendly Excite Ally Interactions

    • Fear Family = +1 Skill to friendly Excite Enemy Interactions

    • Psalm Family = +1 to all friendly Composures

    • Sleep Family = +1 Skill to friendly Subdue Enemy Interactions

    • Speed Family = +1 Skill to friendly Excite Ally Interactions & Subdue Enemy Interactions

    • Zeal Family = +1 Skill to friendly Excite Ally Interactions and Affirm Ally Interactions

When a Dancer dances, their Control can enhance their Songs. 1 additional SPP is available for them to invest for every 10 Control they have beyond the total Complexity of Songs they are currently singing. This does not allow the Dancer to exceed normal maximum Passion investments for Songs. This bonus does not apply if the Dancer is Faltering during the entire Turn in Segment 1. This bonus can provide a maximum of 4 additional SPP for each Tier of the Dancer.

Because of the focused expression that dancing adds, Dancers cannot layer Songs that are of different Families while dancing. Additionally, Dancers will not sing Songs in the Flame, Flash, Sheep, or Strike Families. Dancers will not choose a Horse as an Epic Blessing. Dancers will also not manifest a weapon. When Striking without a manifest weapon, Dancers have a 2 Action Point Strike with a Passion Effect that adds +1 Force. 

Dancer’s focused expression also adds to certain Social Interactions they or their allies perform or those affected by the Dancer's Songs. This bonus varies depending on the Family being sung by the Dancer currently and are as follows:
Cry Family = Boon:1 to friendly Excite Ally and Subdue Enemy Interactions
Fear Family = Boon:1 to friendly Excite Enemy Interactions
Psalm Family = +2 to all friendly Composures
Sleep Family = Boon:1 to friendly Subdue Enemy Interactions
Speed Family = Boon:1 to friendly Excite Ally Interactions & Subdue Enemy Interactions
Zeal Family = Boon:1 to friendly Excite Ally Interactions and Affirm Ally Interactions
