Rank Promotion Checklist
The following is a consolidated checklist of the things that should be considered after each Rank promotion. Details of these individual items are described in later sections, but this puts them all in one place so you don’t have to search to avoid missing something.
Every Rank:
- Increase the your Primary Basic Attribute value by 2 (Rank:40+ increases 7)
- Increase the your Secondary Basic Attribute value by 1 (Rank:40+ increases 3)
- Add 12 new Seeds of Growth: 1 Seed to your Primary Attribute and 1 Seed to your Secondary Attribute, roll 5 at random, and assign the remaining 5 anywhere you choose (Rank:40+ adds 40 Seeds, 7 in Primary and Secondary, 12 at random, and 14 assigned how you like)
- Gain 1 Social Point (Rank:40+ gains 3)
- Single-Order and Dual-Order Warriors and Messengers gain 1 Maneuver Point
- Single-Order and Dual-Order Ministering Spirits learn 1 Spiritual Effect
- Single-Order and Dual-Order Minstrels learn 1 Song
Not Every Rank:
- Tri-Warrior or Tri-Messenger elohim gain 1 Maneuver Point on the 1st and 2nd of every 3 Ranks
- Tri-Ministering Spirit, Tri-Minstrel, and Quad-Order elohim gain 1 Maneuver Point on the 1st of every 2 Ranks
- Tri-Ministering Spirit elohim learn 1 Spiritual Effect on the 1st and 3rd of every 3 Ranks
- Tri-Messenger, Tri-Minstrel, and Quad-Order elohim learn 1 Spiritual Effect on the 1st of every 2 Ranks
- Tri-Minstrel elohim learn 1 Song on the 2nd and 3rd of every 3 Ranks
- Tri-Warrior, Tri-Ministering Spirit, and Quad-Order elohim learn 1 Song on the 2nd of every 2 Ranks
- Gain one Inspiration Token Specialization any time after reaching Rank:2. Then another after reaching Rank:4. Then one final after reaching Rank:6
- Potential to join a Discipline any time after reaching Rank:3
- Gain benefits of graduating beyond Fledgling Ranks (having reached Rank:7)
- Gain benefits of increasing in Tier at Ranks:12, 24, and 40
Differences for Archangel Ranks:
- Add a numerical increase of 7 (instead of 2) to the value of your Primary Basic Attribute
- Add a numerical increase of 3 (instead of 1) to the value of your Secondary Basic Attribute
- Add 40 (instead of 12) new Seeds of Growth. Roll 12 at random, then ensure you have at least 7 in your Primary and Secondary Basic Attributes. Finally, choose where to place additional Seeds until you have a total of 40 new Seeds assigned
- Gain 3 Social Points (instead of 1)
- At Ranks:40, 43, 47 the Warrior or Messenger is allowed to spend Maneuver Points to increase one Maneuver to Mastery Level 5 (so they will only ever have as many as 3 Maneuvers at Mastery Level 5)
- At Ranks:40, 43, 47 the Ministering Spirit is allowed to choose 1 Tier:4 Spiritual Effect as their learned Spiritual Effect (so they will only ever have as many as 3 Spiritual Effects at Mastery Level 5)
- At Ranks:40, 43, 47 the Minstrel is allowed to choose 1 Tier:4 Song as their learned Song (so they will only ever have as many as 3 Songs at Mastery Level 5)
Graduating Fledgling Ranks (Promotion to Rank:7):
- 2 Social Points
- 2 Maneuver Points, 1 Spiritual Effect, or 1 Song (choose 1 from options appropriate to Order)
- 7 Spirit Seeds (Spirit Seeds give an increase of 3, ignoring usual Seed multipliers)
Tier Increases:
2nd Heaven (Tier:2)
- Add a one time numerical increase of 12 to all six of your Basic Attributes
- Choose one Epic Blessing (Accelerated Growth, Covenant Item, or Horse)
- All Warriors and Messengers gain a one-time bonus of 6 Maneuver Mastery Points
- Single-Order Warriors improve Strength in Struggle to also add +1 Adjustment to all Resist Checks
- All Messengers improve their "to Perceive" and "vs. Perceive" by +3
- Single-Order Messengers improve Trained Eye to give +2 Adjustments
- All Ministering Spirits gain a one-time bonus of learning either an additional 2nd Heaven Spiritual Effect or 3 Spiritual Effects of 1st Heaven in 3 different Families
- All Minstrels gain a one-time bonus of learning either an additional 2nd Heaven Song or 3 Songs of 1st Heaven in 3 different Families
- Gain a 2nd set of wings just below the 1st set
3rd Heaven (Tier:3)
- Add a one time numerical increase of 24 to all six of your Basic Attributes
- Choose one Epic Blessing (Accelerated Growth, Covenant Item, Greater Covenant Item, Horse, or Chariot)
- All Warriors and Messengers gain a one-time bonus of 8 Maneuver Mastery Points
- Single-Order Warriors improve Strength in Struggle to also add +2 Adjustments to all Resist Checks
- Multi-Ordered Warriors improve Strength in Struggle to also add +1 Adjustment to all Resist Checks
- All Messengers improve their "to Perceive" and "vs. Perceive" by +3
- Single-Order Messengers improve Trained Eye to allow the Messenger to add a 2nd Target (Perceived one at a time, can still only attempt one Target each Segment)
- Multi-Ordered Messengers improve Trained Eye to give +2 Adjustments
- All Ministering Spirits gain a one-time bonus of learning either an additional 3rd Heaven Spiritual Effect or 3 Spiritual Effects of up to 2nd Heaven in 3 different Families
- All Minstrels gain a one-time bonus of learning either an additional 3rd Heaven Song or 3 Songs of up to 2nd Heaven in 3 different Families
- Gain a 3rd set of smaller wings on the shoulders
Archangel (Tier:4)
- Add a one time numerical increase of 40 to all six of your Basic Attributes
- Choose one Epic Blessing (Accelerated Growth, Balancing Increase, Inspired, Covenant Item, Greater Covenant Item, Horse, Chariot, or Two-Horse Chariot)
- All Warriors and Messengers gain a one-time bonus of 10 Maneuver Mastery Points
- Single-Order Warriors improve Strength in Struggle to also add +3 Adjustments to all Resist Checks
- All Messengers improve their Perception by +3
- Single-Order Messengers improve Trained Eye to give +3 Adjustments
- All Ministering Spirits gain a one-time bonus of learning 3 Spiritual Effects of up to 3rd Heaven in 3 different Families
- All Minstrels gain a one-time bonus of learning 3 Songs of up to 3rd Heaven in 3 different Families
- Gain an increased aura of light and glory
