Detection

Detection extends the range at which other Spirits are sensed to 14”. In addition, the Ministering Spirit knows the general direction and distance and the relative strength of each spirit sensed individually. Relative strength is measured as the difference between the Rank of the sensing character and the Rank/Power of the elohim being sensed. The highest categories of difference will only come into play when sensing the total holy or unholy presence inside a Dominion.

A difference of:

• less than 3 is Equal
• 3-6 is Slight
• 7-11 is Significant
• 12-20 is Substantial
• 21-39 is Major
• 40-79 is Great
• 80-143 is Overwhelming
• 122 or more is Prevailing

Differences in Tier will always be sensed as weaker or stronger, even if they are within a range that would be equal.

Sanctified Detection extends the Sensing Range even further out to 21”. Holy Detection extends the Sensing Range out to 28”. It also reveals the presence and very general direction and distance of Tier:4 elohim anywhere in the entire region. This general sense of Tier:4’s extends even through the boundaries of Dominions.

Discernment

Discernment grants the Ministering Spirit +7 to Perceive for Intentional Perception Checks (does not improve Incidental Perception). The Ministering Spirit can also attempt to Perceive information that may not normally be perceptible, such as the Target's knowledge of Maneuvers, Spiritual Effects, Songs, or anything else the Ministering Spirit may view as potentially pertinent. In addition, the Ministering Spirit can attempt to Perceive information in an “if….then” style to gain knowledge that could help them predict the likely actions or reactions of the discerned.

Sanctified Discernment increases the Intentional Perception bonus to +14. Holy Discernment increases the Intentional Perception bonus to +21.

Haven

Haven causes Tier:1 (& 0) unholy elohim to ignore the Ministering Spirit. They are still technically aware of the Ministering Spirit's presence, but it doesn’t register as significant to them (similar to a leaf blowing by). Striking or using Bind, Barrier, or any Spiritual Effect in the Instrument or Presence Family (except the first Cycle of Countenance) cancels this Spiritual Effect. Aggressive actions also cancel this Spiritual Effect. (Ex. A Fallen Warrior is guarding a prison cell. While in Haven, the Ministering Spirit opens the cell door. The Warrior then moves to secure the door once more. Trying to resist this happening in any way would be considered an aggressive action.) 

While in Haven, the Ministering Spirit’s Magnitude does still count toward Area Influence. Their Magnitude also still counts toward helping allies resist negative Melee Influence, but does not count toward adding positive Melee Influence. Initiating a Strike while in Haven makes the Ministering Spirit’s current Turn a Surprise Segment vs. all affected enemy Targets. A Target Surprised this way will not be Exposed for the first Strike, and no Swiftness Check is made. Haven does not protect the Ministering Spirit from Songs or any other things that affect all holy elohim within Range and do not directly target the Ministering Spirit. 

Sanctified Haven causes up to Tier:2 unholy elohim to ignore the Ministering Spirit. Holy Haven causes up to Tier:3 unholy elohim to ignore the Ministering Spirit.

Eyes of Insight

Eyes of Insight causes many eyes to form, covering the Ministering Spirit. The Ministering Spirit has Boon:3 on all Incidental and Intentional Perception Checks. All Strikes made by the Ministering Spirit have Boon:1. All Strikes made against the Ministering Spirit have Bane:1. The Ministering Spirit has Boon:1 when making Resist Checks and Resist Checks vs. them have Bane:1. Finally, the Ministering Spirit gains Boon:1 on all their Social Interactions and Social Interactions vs. them have Bane:1.
